In order to connect them more directly, the Foundation manages the Founders' Circle, through which individuals and companies become small-scale sponsors of the restoration works and obtain in exchange priority access to our cultural events, amongst other benefits. The latest example of this successful partnership is the restoration in 2008 of a magnificent neo-classic Nativity scene, made up of the figure of the Virgin Mary with Child, Joseph, three shepherds and three animals, created in 1780 by Esteban de Agreda.
Belonging to the Founders' Circle offers advantageous access to all the activities related to the restoration of the Cathedral. Members have preferential entry to the events and conferences held within “Encounters with the Cathedral”; free guided visits and discounts for their guests; discounts in the shop; tax rebates of 20% of the amount donated, etc.
Also, in order to maintain a direct line of communication with all its members, the Santa María Cathedral Foundation regularly writes them letters to communicate all the important news regarding the project and sends them the four-monthly newsletter "News from the Triforium", with interesting articles regarding the Cathedral and its surroundings.
To participate in the Founders' Circle, two different minimum yearly contributions have been established: 50 or 100 euros. Sponsors who choose the first option receive a member's card and an official brooch of the Founders' Circle. Those who contribute 100 euros also receive a scale model of the balustrade of the Cathedral triforium.
